Islamabad: In one and a half years, the Directorate of Enforcement, Capital Development Authority (CDA), has demolished over 7,867 illegal constructions in Islamabad’s marketplaces, roadways, green belts, and sidewalk tracks.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of 13,243 encroachment-related objects, which were later auctioned off.
In addition, sources in the CDA told this agency that fines totaling Rs5.126 million had also been collected as a punishment from trespassers. As many as 1,423 anti-encroachment operations have been started by the Directorate of Enforcement in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), according to their statement.
It is pertinent to state that the directorate was actively carrying out anti-encroachment operations on a regular basis around Islamabad, according to sources, in an effort to stop unauthorised projects in the ICT.
