CDA to Launch 30 Electric Buses on 13 Routes in Federal Capital

Islamabad: A fleet of 30 electric buses will be introduced by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) along a dozen new routes in Islamabad.

According to an official, the buses have already been built and just the AI work remains, which may take several weeks because the majority of the equipment would be imported from Turkey. These buses will then depart China for Pakistan.

After the final tranche between the civic Federal Government and the Chinese manufacturer is completed, 130 buses will be delivered, a CDA spokesperson informed.

These buses would run on 13 additional routes under the control of the CDA contractor and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC).

According to the agreement, the CDA will pay NRTC Rs. 306-331 for each mile. The first routes consist of:

Aabpara to Taramri Chowk
Nilor to Khanna Pul
Pirwadhai Chowk to Faizabad
B-17 to 26 Number Chungi
I-16 to 26 Number Chungi
